Conner, 79, died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Eva Higgins in Saranac where he had been cared for during the past two months. Born in Easton township he had lived nearly all his life in that vicinity. During the past six years he had lived with his cousin, Mary Russ, but after he was taken seriously ill two months ago was moved to the home of Mrs. Higgins. He was a former member of the Elks lodge and also of the Live arbor of the Gleaners. Surviving are the wife, Alice, six children, Vernon of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Alma Parker of South Boston, Clarence of Pontiac, Dew_? of North Park, Grand Rapids, Herbert, Jr., of Saranac and Mrs. Marjorie Rumohr of Belding; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also a brother, Fred, of Pontiac and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Kingston of South Ionia, Mrs. Mae Stebbins of Easton and Mrs. Lydia Covert of Easton. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Morris funeral home in Saranac.
