Mr. and Mrs. Conner, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Roche, and their two children were on their way to Vestaburg to spend Sunday with Mrs. Conner’s daughter, Mrs. Ed Scott. As they approached the Edwards farm, a dog came into the road, and Mr. Conner swerved his machine in an effort to avoid hitting the dog. The car skidded, turning over twice in the ditch. Mrs. Conner’s death occurred 10 minutes after a doctor arrived from Palo. Besides severe bruises, Mr. Conner also suffered a broken or dislocated shoulder. One of the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Roche was badly cut about the face. The other persons escaped unhurt. Mrs. Conner, who before her marriage was Miss Mary Reed, of Orleans, had lived in this part of the county during most of her life. Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Mrs. Ed Scott, of Vestaburg, and a son, Henry Conner, of Keene township. She also leaves two brothers, John Reed, of Lowell, and Austin Reed, of Orleans township. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made for Mrs. Conner, owing to the injures of Mr. Conner. The body of the dead woman is now at the Winchell & Some undertaking parlors. Last Monday afternoon Mr. Conner had fully gained consciousness. As yet the full extent of his injuries have not been determined. It is thought that he may have some ribs broken and he is also suffering from bruises about the head and shoulders.
