Conner was born on Aug. 23, 1836 near Brantford, Ontario and died March 18, 1914, aged 77 years, 6 months and 25 days. He came to Michigan in December, 1854, with his parents, when he was 18 years of age and settled in Easton township, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married to Mary Jane Pike, on March 25, 1860. To them were born eight children, five of whom are living: Herbert W. Conner, Mrs. John Kingston, Mrs. Perry Stebbins, Mrs. Frank Covert and Fred R. Conner, his wife and three children having preceded him home. Two brothers and two sisters also mourn his demise: Levi Conner , Benj. Conner, Mrs. William Dumper and Mrs. Wilson Orser. He gave his heart to his Savior in early life, and was an earnest consistent worker in the M. E. Church in the community in which he lived. He was a loving companion and a kind father, and the memories of his life will be an inspiration to those that are left. The funeral was from the Easton church on Friday at 2 o’clock, Rev. L. W. Nichol officiating. Card of Thanks: We wish to thank our neighbors and friends for their vbery kind assistance and expressions of sympathy during the illness and at the death of our father, also for the beautiful floral offerings. Conner were held at the Easton church on Friday p.m., in charge of Rev. F. L. Nickel. Mr. Conner has been in poor health for about three years, and all felt that knew him that a good man had gone to his rest. His wife died several years ago, and he leaves two sons and three daughters: H. W. Conner, who lives on the old homestead, Fred Conner of Ionia, Mrs. John Kingston, Mrs. Perry Stebbins, and Mrs. Frank Covert.
