Friday, March 21, 1913 

W. J. Connor [sic, Conner] of Easton died Thursday night at nine o'clock. He was
aged 83 years and had lived in Easton for 78 years. He was born in a log house
west of the Reformatory grounds here.* He was the father of nine boys, two of
whom, Cassius and Harvey J., are residents of this city. The funeral services
were held on Sunday.*Other sources indicate he was born in Orange County, New York.

AN EASTON PIONEER GONE

William J. Conner Died at His Home Thursday Night.
William J. Conner died at his home in Easton at 9 o'clock Thursday evening after
an illness of about four years.

He was 85 years of age and a pioneer of Easton, coming to that township in an
early day and settling on the farm where he resided at the time of his death.
For the past 20 years he has been totally blind, enduring his affliction with
patience and fortitude.

About six years ago his wife died.

He was the father of nine sons, all of whom survive him, Jerry, Edward, Ferry,
George, Gordon, Frank, Cassius, Charles and Harry [sic, Harvey].
The funeral will be held from the residence on Sunday.
