EASTON--Death of an Old Resident.

Died, in Easton, July 3d, 1883, at the residence of her son, Wm. J. Conner,
Caroline, relict of Jared Conner, aged 80 years. Jared Conner was one of the
early pioneers of Ionia county, and was one of the first to engage in the
shipping business on Grand river, between Grand Rapids and Lyons, and was one of
the best known men on the river some forty years ago. He died at Grand Haven in
the year 1852.
