Mr. Conner was born in Easton township February 20, 1866, the son of Virgil B. and Rebecca Ann Conner. On October 14, 1888, he was united in marriage with Louisa Hodge of Easton and they lived on a farm in Easton township until 21 years ago, when they came to Ionia to make their home. Mr. Conner was farm superintendent at the Michigan Reformatory, a position he held until 1919. Later he was engaged in the retail grocery business and also sold insurance and real estate. He is survived by Mrs. Conner, a son Lawrence, Ionia; a daughter Mrs. Robert Jolliffe of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Lawrence Conner, Jr., Ionia and Charlotte Jolliffe, New York; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Conner, Saranac and Miss Mina Conner of Easton and one brother, Dexter Conner, Ionia. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. F. G. Dunbar, was held from his late home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
