Mrs. Jessie Conrad, widow of the late Alonzo Conrad, passed away at her home
southwest of Smyrna on last Wednesday night, after being ill with cancer about
eight months.  She was loved and respected by all who knew her.  She was a
member of the Grattan Eastern Stars, the Smyrna Maccabees, the Fellowship Club
and the Farmers’ Club.  She leaves a sister, Mrs. Della Rich of Tekonsha, and
four nieces and one nephew, the one niece, Mrs. Forrest Shutts and husband
having lived with Mrs. Conrad and taken care of her.  The funeral was held at
the late home last Saturday afternoon, with Rev. R.C. Crossman preaching the
sermon.  Burial in the family lot in the Smyrna cemetery.
