The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, December 1, 1937


Mrs. Margaret E. Conroe, 72, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William H. 
Banks, Yeoman street, Wednesday morning, December 1 at 8:30 o’clock following 
several months of illness.

She was born in Berlin township January 15, 1865, and was the daughter of Mr. 
and Mrs. William Goldthrite, early pioneers of Berlin township.  She has been a 
resident of Ionia for over 30 years.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. William H. Banks of Ionia, two sisters, Mrs. 
Tollie Aldrich of Berlin township and Mrs. Addie Olmstead of Greenville, a 
brother Gorden Goldthrite and a granddaughter Joyce Banks.  A grandson Dale 
Banks died January 30, 1937.

Funeral services will be held from the Stone funeral home Friday afternoon, 
December 3, at 3 o’clock.  Rev. A. C. DeVries will conduct the services.  
Interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
