Conroy, 78, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday at the Hawley Convalescent home at Muir, where she had been a patient since August 1958. She had been in poor health the past three years. Born July 16, 1881 in Posen, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kawalski, Mrs. Conroy came to Ionia with her parents in 1887, and was married October of 1911, to John Conroy at Clair, Ill. Her husband died in 1945. For the past 11 years Mrs. Conroy had made her home in Ionia with a sister, Mrs. Virginia Ross, 332 Colby street. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church, and during the years of her married life was active in many civic enterprises. Rosary will be recited at Boynton’s funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be Saturday, January 3 at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. ---- Funeral service for Mrs. Hannah M. Conroy was held at SS. Peter and Paul church Saturday at 9 a.m. following prayer service at Boynton’s funeral home at 8:30 a.m. The Rev. Fr. John S. Fons sang the requiem mass. Bearers were Wilfred Wieczorek, Frank Gazella, Vernon Van Buren, Wesley Harp, Elmer White and Lawrence White. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
