Lake Odessa Wave
          MAURICE CONTRERAS, KENOSHA, WIS.
   Maurice Contreras, 43, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, formerly of Lake Odessa, died June
23 in Kenosha.
   He was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Lake Odessa, the son of Gabriel and Carmen
(Arellano) Contreras.  He graduated from Lake Odessa High School, attended Western 
Michigan University in Kalamazoo and graduated by Chicago Tech in Chicago, Ill.  He 
was employed by Omega Tech Corporation as a design engineer in Kenosha.
   He is survived by his mother Carmen of Springbook Manor, Grand Rapids;  9
brothers, Jessie, Louis, and Bruce, all of Lake Odessa;  Joseph of San Antonia, 
Texas;  Robert of Chicago; Gabriel of Lansing; Tom of Ada;  Andrew of Jension; and 
Nicholas of Calumet City, Ill.;  two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Ashworth of Haines 
City, Fla. and Mrs. Aurellio (Lucy) Villa of Anaheim, Calif.;  several nieces
and nephews and cousins.
   Rosary services were Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Pickens-Koop Funeral Chapel in
Lake Odessa.  A funeral mass was offered Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Edward's Church, 
Lake Odessa.  Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
