Lake Odessa Wave Thursday April 12, 1962

Gabriel Contreras Died Last Saturday
Gabriel "Joe" Contreras, 84, retired farmer passed away on early Saturday at his 
home on Jordan Lake avenue. His death was unexpected but had been in ill health 
for several years. A native of Mexico, he has been a resident of the United 
States since 1925 and for the last 25 years lived at Lake Odessa.

Surviving are his wife Carmen, ten sons, Joseph, Robert, Jessie, and Maurice all 
of Chicago, Ill., Louis, Bruce, Nicholas and Thomas of Lake Odessa, Andrew with 
the Armed Forces at Aberdeen, MD., and Gabriel Jr. of Detroit; two daughters 
Mrs. Aurellio (Lucy) Vila of Los Angeles Calif., and Mrs.George (Mary) Snyder of 
Webberville, 11 grandchildren and a sister Mrs.Pascuala Saidana of Hermosa 
Beach, Calif. A 20 years old son Charles passed away Feb. 26th.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Edwards church with 
burial in the Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Raymond Pattok officiated
