Cook, 59, of 6233 Bluewater Highway, Muir, died Sunday morning in Ionia County Memorial Hospital Born July 15, 1924, in Owensboro, Ky., he was the son of Alonzo and Minnie Cook. He attended schools in Kentucky and was a veteran of World War II, serving in both the U.S. Navy and as an Army paratrooper. He was a retired employee of the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons. He was married to Joan Sutton April 4, 1953. Surviving are his wife; three sons, George of Lyons, John, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Oscoda, and Mark, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Phoenix, Ariz.; and one daughter, Adrienne White of Stanton. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard of Louisville, Ky., and Russell of Ft. Smith, Ark.; four sisters, Beatrice Rutledge, Zelma Swope, Margaret Cook, and Pearl Cecil, all of Louisville, Ky. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir, with the Rev. Paul Carmichael officiating.
