She was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Pewamo, the daughter of Ora and Edith (Stanley) Blackmer. She attended school in Pewamo and Pine Ridge, Ky. She married George Cook in January 1941 in Lansing. She was employed at Meijer’s in Lansing for 19 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the St. Edward’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Lake Odessa. Surviving are three daughters: Kay Crosby of Mason, Georgia Catt of Lake Odessa and Pam Cook of Holt; one son, John Cook of Lake Odessa; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Hyacinth Kramer of Pewamo and Phyllis Allen of Bradenton, Fla.; and one half brother, Jack Bryant of Lansing. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Bill Blackmer. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Lake Odessa, the Rev. Thomas Boufford officiating. Rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 27 from 7-9 p.m. at Koops Funeral Chapel.
