Cook, 58, of 1100 Lyons Road in Portland, died June 20, 1990, at a Lansing Hospital. He was born March 19, 1932, in Lyons, the son of Arnold and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Cook. He owned and operated Cook Brothers Excavating Company of Portland and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Knights of Columbus, and Catholic Order of Foresters. Cook was also a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Marie; six sons, Keith, Bruce, Dale, Kenneth, William and Joseph all of Portland; four daughters, Carol Kramer, Judy Kransz, Lisa and Diane, all of Portland; eight grandchildren; a brother, Norman of Lyons; and four sisters, Marie Harvey of Haslett, Revella Lawless, Wilma Trierweiler and Joan Huhn, all of Portland. He was preceded in death by a brother Julius and a sister, Lorraine Pohl. Funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. Richard VanLente officiating. Burial at Portland Cemetery.
