The Portland Observer, Thursday, September 30, 1937

Math cook, 76, a resident of Pewamo for half a century, died at his home there 
Friday, September 24.  Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. 
Joseph’s church, with a son of the deceased, the Rev. Fr. Philip cook, of 
Howell, officiating.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Katherine Cook, and eight children; Alfred, 
Casper, Isadore, Otto and Miss Marie Cook, of Pewamo; Mrs. Fred Puttam, 
Riverside California; Mrs. A. J. Dunneback, Grand Rapids, and the Rev. Fr. 
Cook, in Howell.  Two brothers, Joseph and Louis Cook of Pewamo, and two 
sisters, Mrs. Lena Kramer, of Pewamo, and Mrs. Joseph Weber of Buffalo, New 
York, also survive.
