The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 30, 1936

Pneumonia snuffed out the life of John Cook Wednesday evening, January 23, at 
his home about two miles east of Pewamo, in Clinton county.  He was born 
December 14, 1856, and was in his eightieth year.  He was the oldest of five 
brothers and also had seven sisters.  Five sisters and one brother have 
preceded him in death.  He was born in this country of German parentage and 
was the father of nine children.  His wife passed away about a year ago.  He 
is survived by seven children and their families.

Services were held at St. Joseph’s church, Saturday, January 25; and interment 
in the Catholic cemetery, south of Pewamo.
