The Lake Odessa Wave-Times, Thursday, May 23, 1929

Charles cook, a former preacher of the Church of God at Ed Leak’s corners, 
died from spinal meningitis Tuesday night at Pontiac.  He had been working in 
the Fisher Body works at Detroit. 

Carl Cook, a cousin, was notified, also Chas. Cook, who works in the Farm 
Bureau elevator and Reuben Cook of Ionia.

It is expected the body will be brought here for burial.
