Michael J. Cook, 57, of Pewamo, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1999.  He was 
born Oct. 28, 1941, in Lansing, the son of Charles and Mathilda (Schafer) Cook.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 
member of the Pewamo Council 8071 Knights of Columbus.  What he enjoyed most of 
all was being with his family, flying his airplane and farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bonnie Keller and Patricia 
Cook; brothers, Charles Cook Jr. and Paul Cook.

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Barker) Cook; children, Tim (Penny), Randy, 
Cheryl, Tom (Dianne), Sue, Linda and Chris Cook; two grandchildren, Anthony and 
Cameron; sisters, Louise Schreiber and Sue Knoll; brother, Philip Cook; many 
brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, 
Pastor, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, with the 
Rite of Committal following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  The family will 
receive friends at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., 
Westphalia, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday.  The 
rosaries will be prayed at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Friday.  There 
will be Scriptural Wake Service prayed Friday at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, 
memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Educational Trust Fund in 
care of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 106 East St., P.O. Box 37, Pewamo, 44873, 
in memory of Michael J. Cook.  Arrangements by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 
Portland.
