Cook, 74, died at his home, 232 East Main street, Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock following a week’s illness of pneumonia. He was born in Greenville, Penn. January 15, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Cook. He was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Collins at Winchester, Virg. October 26, 1882, and for the past 47 years they have lived in Michigan. They came to Ionia in 1915 and prior to their coming to Ionia, Mr. Cook had been manager of a stock farm near Detroit. For the first ten years they were in Ionia Mr. Cook was farm superintendent at the Ionia State hospital. For several years he has worked at the Lauster Market. Mrs. Cook is the only survivor. Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral chapel Friday afternoon, January 18, with Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Park mausoleum. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, January 17, 1945 Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral chapel Friday afternoon, January 18, at 2 o’clock for Orin W. Cook who died at his home, 232 East Main street Wednesday morning following a week’s illness of pneumonia. Rev. Paul L. Stewart of the Church of Christ, will conduct the services, and interment will be at the Highland Park mausoleum. Subsequent Publication: Saturday, January 19, 1935 Funeral services for Orin W. Cook were held at the Boynton funeral chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Paul L. Stewart conducting the services. Mrs. R. A. Colwell and Mrs. Thane Benedict sand “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Bearers for the services were Frank Gazella, Jack Jones, William Kuhtz, William Franch, Henry Cook and Fred Barnes. Interment was held at the mausoleum at Highland Park cemetery.
