Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 23 Mar 1970

Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Cook, 77, of 221 West, Portland, died Saturday at a Portland
convalescent home.  She was born April 8, 1892 in Westphalia, and had lived in
Portland five years coming therefrom Pewamo.

Besides her husband, Edward, she leaves five sons, Brother Leon Cook, Maryknoll
Missionary at Hingham, Mass., Leonard and Reynold Cook of Grand Rapids, and
Thomas and Robert H. Cook of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Robert DeGazio of
Bolder, Colo., Mrs. Francis Esch of Lansing; 27 grandchildren and one great
grandchild; one brother, Michael Wohlscheid of Carson City.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in
Portland.  Fr. Stephen Kolenic will officiate and interment will be at Portland
cemetery.  Rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. at Neller Funeral Home in
Portland.  Bearers will be R. Edward, David, Harold and Leon Cook, Thomas Esch
and Isidore Wohlscheid.
