Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 15 Jun 1944

Several months’ illness from a heart disorder resulted in the death early
Wednesday evening at his home in Lansing of Martin V. Cook, assistant
attorney-general and former Ionia resident.  He was 50 years of age and had been
identified with the legal division of the state highway department for the past
decade.  For several years prior to the Lansing appointment, he was a practicing
attorney at Greenville.

Surviving with the widow, the former Elizabeth Rieger of this city, are two
daughters, a son, two sisters and two brothers, Harm Cook of Jackson, and Henry
J. Cook, former Ionia county sheriff.

It is expected funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon.
