He had been ill for about two months following a paralytic attack, and acute indigestion had complicated his disease. He was 65 years old last August. He leaves a widow and eight children – four sons and four daughters. Another son Thos. Cook of Allegan, died last summer. There are fourteen grandchildren. All the children were here at the time of his death. Mr. Cook was a night guard at the Reformatory, where he had been employed for 26 years. Before coming here he was a resident of Allegan. The funeral was at the home at 10 o’clock Monday morning. The remains were taken to Grand Rapids on the 11:06 train.
