Cook, 62, 427 W. Grand River Ave., Portland died Sept. 20 at his home. He was born Feb. 29,1920, in Pewamo and was the son of Arnold and Elizabeth Schmitt Cook.He was a partner with his brother, William, in owning Cook Brothers Excavating in Portland. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Church in Portland. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; four sons, Ronald of Portland, Roger of Lansing, Brian of Broomfield, Colo. and Daniel of Waterloo, Canada; two daughters, Patricia Cook of Lansing and Lori Cook of Portland; 6 grandchildren; two brothers, Norman of Pewamo and William of Portland; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Harvey of Haslett, Mrs. Revella Lawless of Portland, Mrs. Wilma Trierweiler of Westphalia and Mrs. Joann Huhn of Dewitt. Rosary services were held last Tuesday at the Neller Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held last Wednesday at St. Patricks Church, the Rev. Father Donald Weber officiating. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
