She was born near Woodbury September 27, 1887, the daughter of Charles and Artie (Schwitzer) Hough and married Charlton Cook in September of 1906 and he passed away January 8, 1970. She had resided in Michigan until 1939 when she with her husband moved to W. Virginia when he accepted a pastorate with the Church of God. They moved back to Michigan in 1948, Mrs Cook was a charter member of the Church of God. Surviving are; four children two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Vera) Lane of Lake Odessa and Mrs. James (Betty) Elkins of Beckley, W. Virginia; two sons, Vivern of Lake Odessa and Kenneth of Acworth, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Pickens-Koop Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, Rev. George Alton of the Sebewa Church of God officiating.
