O. POSTMASTER DIED TODAY LAKE ODESSA -- Reuben B. Cook, 69, World War I veteran, and former Lake Odessa postmaster, died at 3 a.m. Thursday at the Veterans hospital in Ann Arbor. He had been a patient intermittently for several months. He was born July 4, 1893 in Sebewa township, the son of Charles P. And Viola Hubbard Cook. May 29, 1917 he was married to Elana Mourer and spent most of their married life in the Lake Odessa area with the exception of several years in Tampa, Fla. They returned to Lake Odessa three years ago as permanent residents. Mr. Cook served as deputy sheriff and at one time was postmaster of Lake Odessa and a life member of Ionia Elks lodge. Surviving are hi wife, Elana: one daughter, Mrs Lester McKinney of Walled Lake: two grandchildren: three brothers, the Rev. Carl Cook, Charles and Clifton, and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Williams, all of Lake Odessa. Funeral service will be at Pickens funeral chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Roy Houghton officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
