Cook, for a member of years a faithful member of the Baptist church and that community, has passed to her eternal home. It was the first break in the family circle, all their children growing to manhood. The funeral was largely attended at the church of her choice and her motherly kindness will be greatly missed by husband and children. OBITUARY Emily V. Hubbard was born in Geogy Co., Ohio,December 15, 1856, and departed this life March 5th, 1923, aged 66 years, two months and 20 days. On October 15th, 1876, she was united in marriage to Charles P.Cook of Portland, Michigan. Shortly after they moved to the farm at Sebewa, where she lived until her death, with the exception of two years in Lake Odessa. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, five sons, two daughters, one sister and two brothers, besides a host of friends. She was a faithful member of the Sebewa Baptist Church for last 33 years. She was always ready to serve wherever opportunity afforded for the good of her fellowmen and for the praise of her Master. This is the first death in the family circle. Every one of the children God gave them have been spared to them to the present - time. This is worthy of mention, and God's blessing upon both parents and children in this way, has proven to be a great source of inspiration to the parents, especially. Not now, but in the coming years, It may be in the better land, We'll read the meaning of our tears, And there, sometime, we'll understand. Then trust God thru all thy Days Fear not, for He doth hold thy hand; Tho dark thy way, still sing and praise Some time, some where, we'll understand. The formal services were held in the Sebewa Baptist church March 7th at 1:00 p.m. Rev. C H.Zuse of the First U.B.church, Lake Odessa officiating. Rev. Hatfield pastor of the Baptist church assisting. Interment was made at Lake Side cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We take opportunity to thank the neighbors, choir, ministers, and friends for their sympathy and kindness and for the flowers at the time of the death and burial of our wife and mother.
