COOK PEWAMO-Oscar M. Cook, 85 of Parks Road, Pewamo, died at Provincial Nursing Home in Lansing Thursday. He was born on Dec.14, 1893, the son of John A. and Mary Fedewa Cook, and lived all his life farming on the Cook homestead south of Pewamo. Survivors include is wife, the former Bernita Schrauben; four sons, James,Donald and Leon, all of Lansing, and Roy of Ionia; eight daughters,Mrs.Bernita Fedewa of Pewamo; Mrs.Isabelle Wilson of Sand lake; Mrs.Angela Coonrod and Mrs.Dorothy Golota, both of Lansing; Mrs.Ella Thelen of Williamston; Mrs.Cay DeYoung, St.Louis, Marcia Cook of Ionia; Mrs.Jeanne Weaver of Indianapolis; four stepsons, Norbert Schrauben and Maurice Schrauben, both of Belding; Alvin G. Schrauben of Lansing and Paul N.Schrauben of Jackson. Also surviving are five step-daughters, mrs.Mary Ann Hoy of Portage, Mrs.Beatrice Gray of Lansing, Mrs.Joanne Hoffmann of Kawkawlin; Therese Lawless, Traverse City; Bernita Miller of Grand Ledge 52 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; 42 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one brother Harold Cook of Pewamo; three sisters, Sister Laura Cook of Racine, Wis.; Mrs.Mary Dieter of Fowler and Mrs.Pauline Cook of Lansing. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday 23 and 8 p.m. and Sunday 3 and 9 p.m. at St.Mary's Chapel n Westphalia. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St.Joseph Church in Pewamo. The Rev. Monsignor Thomas Bolger will officiate.Burial will be in St.Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Michael and James Cook, Larry Thelen, Roy Wilson, Joseph Coonrod, and Paul Eldridge. Funeral arrangements were made by Neller Funeral Home of Portland.
