He was born on February 10, 1918 in Pewamo, MI., the son of Edward and Elizabeth Cook. Leon was preceded in death by his brothers,Leonard and Robert Cook. Leon served in World War II and was a Maryknoll Brother for 58 years.Leon's hobby was collecting bugs for biology companies.He spent winter months in Guatemala for Maryknoll and summer months in Portland with his brother Robert Cook and sister-in-law Helen Cook. He is survived by his brothers Ray and Tom Cook and sisters Loraine Esch and Estella Degrazio, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, PO Box 302, Maryknoll, NY, 10545.
