The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, March 1, 1972
Richard O. Cook, 44, of Lansing died Monday night in a Lansing hospital after 
being there three weeks.  He was born in Ionia February 7, 1928, the son of 
Otis F. and Lila Cook and spent his early years here.  He graduated form 
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and served as a lieutenant in World War 
II.  He was with the Michigan Retailers association as executive vice 
president.  In 1954 he married Kathryn Gingrich Johnson and she survives as do 
a stepdaughter, Cheryl Johnson of Leroy; mother, Mrs. Otis F. Cook of Lansing; 
sister, Mrs. Jane Otto of Birmingham and relatives in Ionia.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Episcopal church at 
220 West Ottawa, Lansing.  Arrangements were made by Estes, Leadley funeral 
home in Lansing.
