Lake Odessa Wave, 1 Jul 1971

Clifton J. Cook, 81, passed away at his home Tuesday evening.  He was born July
30, 1889, in Sebewa Township, son of Charles and Emily (Hubbard) Cook, and was a
lifelong resident of the area.  An active member of the Sebewa Baptist Church,
he was also a charter member of the Farm Farm Auto Insurance Co. and an agent
for Ionia County for 13 years.  He married Gladys Shetterly Sept. 28, 1912, and
they moved to their home on Fourth Avenue 17 years ago when he retired from
farming.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Gaylord of Brighton, Merlin of Pomona,
Calif., and George of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Ilene Hubbard of
Mulliken and Mrs. Gerald (Rose) Augst of Lake Odessa; 17 grandchildren; 42
great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles, and a sister, Mrs. Mable Williams,
both of Lake Odessa.

Mr. Cook reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, where services will be held
Friday at 2 p.m. with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
