She was born May 16, 1932 in Ronald Twp. the daughter of Holden and Hope (Wood) Cook. She lived and worked on the family farm almost all of her life, where she raised crops, goats and cows. She also cut her own wood. She worked for the State Hospital and later the Michigan Reformatory from 1953-1983. She was Secretary of the State Employees Retirement Association and Secretary of the Lyons- Muir Historical Society. She is survived by her brothers, Douglas (Cheicko) Cook of Maryland, Michael (Dorothy) Cook of Ionia, David (Gloria) Cook of Ionia; sister, Holly (Larry) Treadway of Florida; sister-in-law, Jenny Cook of Kalamazoo; special dog, Winnie, 11 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wallace. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Muir with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Interment North Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Muir Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Lyons- Muir Historical Society.
