Mrs. Cooley was downtown the previous Saturday evening in her usual good spirits, but when she arose Sunday morning she was taken with chills and was obliged to return to the bed. Dr. Bradfield, the attending physician, pronounced her death due to heart trouble and a general breakdown. Born in Portland 63 years ago this month. Mrs. Cooley had made her home in this village continuously since. Her maiden name was Flora Jenkins, she being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Jenkins, pioneer residents of this section. About 45 years ago she was married to Charles Cooley, who passed before her two years ago. the children surviving this marriage are Mrs. Floyd Todd and Dee Cooley, both of Portland. Loren Jenkins, a brother of deceased, passed away a number of years ago. Rev. D. E. Millard conducted funeral services at the home of Mrs. Todd, daughter of deceased, on Saturday at 2:00 o’clock, and the remains were interred in Portland cemetery.
