Hastings Reminder, Apr 2007

Susie Cooley, aged 82, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 
1, 2007.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Donald and Sue Cooley, 
Peggy Coppess, and Marilyn and Rob Flessner; eight grandchildren; six great 
grandchildren; sisters, Agnes (Orvin) Bartlett, Stella Silvas, Elvira Rivera, 
and Becky (Eligio) Galaviz; sister-in-law, Janet (Dale) Schairer; and many 
nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and neighbors.

Preceding Susie in death were her husband of 56 years, Edward F. Cooley; 
brothers, Eli Casillas and Porfiro Casillas; sisters, Connie Harder and Jame 
Rodriguez; and dear friend, Marie Pickens.

Susie began working at Oldsmobile with General Motors in 1953, and retired in 
1987.  Since that time, she spent many happy hours enjoying her friends and 
family.  Susie particularly enjoyed going for coffee with her friends, lunch 
and shopping with her sisters, and visiting her children, grandchildren, and 
great grandchildren.  One of her greatest honors came in 2000, when she and Ed 
were chosen as the Grand Marshals of the Lake Odessa 4th of July Fair Parade.

Visitation with the family will be at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa 
on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  The funeral service will 
be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the Koops Funeral Chapel.  
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.  The family has suggested that memorial 
contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa, 
the Lake Odessa Depot Museum, or the Lakewood Community Ambulance.
