Cooley, 64, of 1324 Pearl St., died Wednesday afternoon at Pennock hospital in Hastings where she was a patient for the past several months. She was born September 10, 1914 in Alma, the daughter of Doncorliss and Bertha Boyer Eyer. She moved with her parents to Lansing as a young child and attended schools there. Mrs. Cooley worked for a cousin on a farm for a while and married Lavern Cooley June 3, 1939 in Lansing. They moved to Lake Odessa shortly after their marriage. She was employed in the cafeteria at Lakewood Public schools for 25 years. Mrs. Cooley was a member of Calvary United Brethren church, the WMA and a past member of the Rebekahs and Order of Eastern Star in Lake Odessa. Survivors include her husband; one son, Bruce of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ludman of Morenci and Mrs. Lucy DeVoe of Indian River; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Rev. George Wiebert and Pastor Joseph Fox officiating. Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
