Born Dec. 16, 1914, Portland-son of James Horace and Cora Cornelia (Arntz) Cooley. Served in U.S. Army WW II in S. Pacific, Guadalcanal, wounded in action. Won Bronze star for ground combat. He managed Little League baseball, he was a pitcher & played softball in church and county leagues. Survived by wife Vera, two sons, three daughters, 13 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and a sister Rosa. Funeral service Sat, Jan. 22 at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca with Pastor James Conn officiating. Burial at Ithaca cemetery. Memorial contributions to Ithaca Church of God.
