Lewis Longanbach of Saranac Rt.! driver of the other car struck the rear of the Cooley car as both were traveling west on M-43, according to Eaton county sheriff's officers. Mr. Cooley suffered concussion, a punctured lung and internal injuries. Police said Longanbach told them as he was driving on M-43, three miles west of Mulliken, he apparently fell asleep and awoke too late to avoid hitting Cooley's car. Mr. Cooley had been employed by the Fisher Body at Lansing for the last seven years and prior to that at the Nash Kelvinator and the Lake Odessa Canning Co. Surviving are his wife Verna, one daughter Janet, on son Edward, two sisters, Mrs.Ralph Shaw and Mrs. Esther kart, one brother La Vern and three grand- children. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Inez Martz will officiate.
