Trouble Came From Fall Child Suffered Terribly for Several Weeks – Many Friends attend Funeral. Little Alice Coon died Friday, adding another chapter of sadness in the life of her grandmother, Mrs. Simeon Coon. A few years ago Mrs. Coon’s husband was killed near the Lookingglass bridge, a short time ago her daughter-in-law, to whom she was greatly attached, died after a lingering illness from tuberculosis, so that the death of the little girl, who had lived with her for almost all of her life, came as an added blow. Alice was eight years old and until a few weeks ago was in excellent health. About the time of her mother’s death she fell down stairs and injured her head. She began to fail at once, one noticeable feature being that her eyes became crossed. Soon afterwards she suffered a stroke of paralysis and lay helpless for many days. A second stroke on Thursday hastened the end. The child seemed to realize that she was to die and gave away her choicest possessions to her little playmates. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, the Rev. D. E. Millard officiating with touching words. Many flowers surrounded the small casket and scores of friends attended.
