Coon, died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Anna Besemer, where she had been cared for for some time. Mrs. Coon had been in failing health for a number of years and the death of her husband, in July of last year was a severe blow to her. Mrs. Coon was the daughter of the late Max and Caroline Gais and was born near Rockford, but had spent the greater part of her life as a resident of this city. The family home has for many years been at 421 E. Division street. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ainsworth O. Green, of Kalamazoo; a son, Harold of Long Lake; two brothers, Art Gais of Alma and Russell Gais of this city and five grandchildren. Mrs. Coon was a long time member of the Belding Baptist church and Rev. Clinton Everts, pastor of that church officiated at her funeral services which were held at the Fales funeral home Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock with burial being by the side of her late husband in River Ridge cemetery.
