Luke was born December 27, 1996, the son of David W. and Linda J.(Ferris) Coon. Luke is survived by his loving wife Niki Coon of Lyons; sons Weston and Jacob Coon; brother Zack Coon (Ashleigh Jackson) and sister Laura (Ethan) Bowman and nephew Mason of Rockford. He is also survived by his grandmother Ardist Ferris of Lyons and grandfather Ken Coon of Lyons, Aunt Sue Ferris, Cousins Shane (Grace) Ferris and Cheyenne Ferris and Uncle Roger (Kelly) Ferris. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Duane Ferris and Uncle Steve Ferris. Luke is also survived by his father and mother in-law,Jeff and Amy Cory, sister-in-law Amanda (Mike) Barr and niece Rosaline, and brother-in-law Michael(Rachel) Cory. Luke had many wonderful friends in his life including special best friends Wyatt & Molly, Dillon, Charlie & Kelli and Emmett & Nicole. Luke was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hunting, fishing and trapping.He was forever barefoot to keep his connection to earth as it grounded him, and as he grounded us. He found happiness in providing for the ones he loved.He could and did do everything he put his mind to. He was a Gentle Giant, Teddy bear of a man that would give anyone the shirt off his back or a or a mouthful of words to anyone that needed that as well. Luke married the love of his life, soul twin and Middle School sweetheart,Niki in 2020 on their 10th anniversary. They had an inexplicable love and commitment like no other. Luke absolute pride and joy were his boys,Weston and Jacob.Nothing made him happier than loving them.He was a busy dad teaching them daily about love and life. He loved to teach them about nature and to hunt and fish. Luke had empathy and understanding well beyond his years, full of knowledge, skills and advice that would surprise and amaze you. Luke was a special soul that will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia from 11:00 am.-1:00 pm. A luncheon will be held at the Floral Building on the Fairgrounds following the services at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in Luke's name to his Boy's.
