Mrs. Rosemary Cooper, 64, of Waucanda, Ill., formerly of Ionia, passed away 
Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001 in Libertyville, Ill.  She was born the daughter of 
Casper and Rose (Koster) Funkey on October 10, 1937 in Ionia.  She was married 
to Gary Cooper on May 22, 1965.

Rosemary graduated from the Saints Peter and Paul Academy and later went on to 
Davenport College in Grand Rapids.  Rosemary and Gary resided in Turkey and 
Germany while he was in the military, and spent the last 21 years in Waucanda 
where she worked as Transportation Director for the Waucanda Area Schools.

Surviving are: husband, Gary Cooper of Waucanda, Ill.; son, Steven (Chris) 
Cooper of Montgomery, Ill.; daughter Karen (Garon) Albrecht of McHenry, Ill.; 
four grandchildren, Amber, Alec, Zachary, and Hannah; brother, Don (Joyce) 
Funkey of Ionia.

Visiting hours for Mrs. Cooper will be Thursday, Oct. 25, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, 
Ionia.

A prayer vigil will be held during the evening visitation at 8 p.m.  Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Saints 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Fr. Melvin Fox, presider.

The organist will be Mrs. Mary Cusack.  Graveside services will be at the Palo 
Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of 
Rosemary be made to the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes are available at 
Cook Funeral Home.
