The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, March 22, 1912

Helen E. Cooper, aged 65, mother of Rev. E. E. Branch, died last evening at 
his home, 340 East Washington street, of shock following a surgical 
operation.  She has been here for some time and has been ill.  This week an 
operation was performed in hopes of giving her relief but death resulted.  

A brief prayer service will be held at the home of Mr. Branch at eight o’clock 
Saturday morning and the remains will be taken on the 9:22 train on the Grand 
Trunk to Lawrence for interment.  Dr. W. K. Spencer will officiate.
