Cooper, age 49, died suddenly, Sunday, at his home at 650 Morton Street. Mr. Cooper was born in Stanton, Mich., on December 13, 1914 and has resided in Belding for 44 years. He had been employed as a welder at the Gibson plant in Belding and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Cooper was married in 1936 to Ethel Talbot, who survives. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Kay) Clark and Elizabeth Cooper, both of Belding; six sons, Kent and Patrick of Kalamazoo, Dennis and Gary in the U.S. Navy, and Joseph and John of Belding, three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Williams of Stanton, Mrs. Edna Groom of Ionia, and Mrs. Blanche Rowan of Muskegon, one brother, Harry Cooper of Belding, and six grandchildren. Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Huffman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, with Fr. January officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery in Parnell.
