She was born June 13, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Baker of Orange township on the farm now owned by Frank Baker. She left home at the age of 13 and went to work as the housekeeper at the E. Townsend farm. She remained there for 32 years. February 4, 1934, she married Horace Cooper at the LeValley parsonage. The service was read by Rev. James Jensen. They went to live a their present home in Danby township. She was a life-long member of the LeValley church and a member of the Ladies Aid division and Missionary society of the church. Surviving are the husband, Horace; three step-daughters, Mrs. Corwin Baum of Portland, Mrs. Mark Brokaw of Eagle, Mrs. Otto Bennett of Lansing; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gilpin of Detroit, Mrs. Mary Hunt of Lyons, Miss Louise Baker and Mrs. Laura Mix of Chicago; and two brothers, Frank of Orange township and Phillip of Marian. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the LeValley church following prayer services at the church at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the mausoleum at Highland Park cemetery.
