Excerpts from Carson City Online Obituary

GARY COOPER
Died Wednesday April 24, 2021-age 82 in Ottawa, Illinois.
Born September 2, 1938 in Bloomer township, MI son of Kenneth and Ireta 
(Griswold) Cooper.
Graduated from Carson City High School with the class of 1957.
Served in the Air Force for twenty-two years, as aircraft mechanic in Japan & 
Anchorage, Alaska & into communications being assigned to Armed Forces Radio & 
Television Services in Turkey, Mississippi, Germany & California.
In California he worked for several Television studios & production houses in 
Hollywood, including the production of the Barney Miller TV show.
Gary worked for McDonalds Corporation creative services for fifteen years before 
retiring & spending all of his time with family, especially grandkids.
Gary's hobbies were flying, wood carving, hunting, fishing, traveling and 
telling stories.
Survived by his son, Steve (Chris) Cooper, Daughter Karen (Tim) Bonnell, 
grandchildren; Zac, Amber, Hannah, Alex, Lan, and Isaac, siblings; Gaylerd 
Cooper, Genette Taylor, Donald (Linda) Cooper, Dane Cooper, Phyllis (Tom) 
Barker, sister-in-law Joan Cooper and many nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Rosemany (Funkey) Cooper, parents & brothers 
Gerald & William Cooper.
Private services will be held at the Lux & Schnepp Funeral Home on Wednesday, 
April 28. Private family visitation on Wednesday, 1-3 pm. 
All are welcome to the graveside service Wednesday, April 28, at 4 p.m at Palo 
Cemetery.
