Death occurred two hours after Joe Weller, with whom he was fishing on Grand river, discovered he had fallen into the stream. The cause of death was undetermined, although it was believed he suffered an attack of illness to which he was subject causing him to fall into the river. Cooper had been taking care of the housework during a three weeks illness of his mother and had gone on a holiday afternoon while his sister, Miss Nola Ruth Cooper, a student at Portland High School, was at the mother’s home. Funeral services will be held at the farm home south of the Crane school at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Portland cemetery.
