Ionia Sentinel Standard – 6 September 1946
Mrs. Edna Cope, 43, East Adams Street died at the Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital early Friday morning where she had been for a day and a half.  She is 
survived by her husband, Howard; a son, Dale/ six sisters, Mrs. Clarence 
Linderman, Mrs. Otis Chapin, Mrs. John Scholtens, Mrs. Emanuel Renucci, Ethel 
Smith and Ilene Smith all of Ionia; a brother, Ray Smith of Ionia; and eight 
nephews and six nieces.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o’clock 
from the Myers Funeral home and interment will be at the Easton Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Cope who died Friday at the Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital were held from the Myers funeral home Monday at 2 o’clock 
with Dr. Paul Steward officiating.  Interment was at the Easton cemetery.  
Bearers were John Zanders, Kenneth Stout, Leon Pierce, Emil Hermans, Lyle 
Shafer and Dan Goodenough.  Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Dan 
Goodenough and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Goodenough of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. Jack 
Bristol and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Shafer of Lansing; Mrs. Ray David of Clarksville 
and Mrs. George Robinson of Lake Odessa.
