Nellie Copeland Dies in Lansing

Mrs. Nellie Copeland, 65, of Lansing passed away Saturday afternoon, May 24 at 
Lansing General Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born December 19, 1908 in Campbell township, Ionia County, the daughter 
of John and Margaret Groff and spent her early life in the local community. 
Nellie graduated from the Lake Odessa High School in 1927 and had attended 
Western Michigan University.

Surviving are her husband, Walter; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Janenne) Grinnell 
of Lansing and Mrs. Carl, (Carolyn) Malkewitz of Grand Ledge: two brothers, 
William Groff of Plymouth and Burton Groff of St. Clair.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at one o'clock at the Calvary Lutheran 
Church, Rev. Milton Reisen officiated with burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial 
Garden.
