Ionia Daily Standard, 10 May 1917

O. Laverne Corey died this morning at 4:00 o’clock after a brief illness,
following, however, long chronic sufferings with diabetes.  He was taken
violently ill Saturday night.  He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Leva Swartz, a
year-old baby, Wayne Laverne, his father, Daniel Corey of Weidman, a sister,
Mrs. Floyd Bellows of the same place, and three brothers, Clarence and Elmer
Corey of this city and Allie Corey of Reading.  He would have been 26 years old
in June.  It will be two years the first of July since his marriage.  The
funeral announcement is deferred until word is received from the father.
