When about 20 years of age she came to Michigan, and in Saranac, on March 22, 1874, she was united in marriage to George R. Corey, settling in Easton township, this county. To this union were born three children, one son, who died in infancy, and two daughters, Mrs. Hester Phillips and Mrs. Nettie Phillips, both of Ionia, who with their father, George R. Corey, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Thompson, of Lansing, are left to mourn their loss. Besides these immediate relatives, she leaves a number of friends and acquaintances, many of whom gathered at the home to extend their loving sympathy to the bereft ones. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at two p.m. by Rev. C.W. Lyman, of the Evangelical church, in the late home. Mrs. Willis Peck and Mrs. R.A. Colwell sang several touching selections. Owing to a painful accident, in which she sustained a broken hip, Mrs. Frank Thompson of Lansing could not attend the services. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
