Cornell, widow of Thomas Cornell, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Her age was 85, last February. She retained her faculties to a remarkable degree and was strong and vigorous considering her years, up to a few weeks before her death. It was only about two weeks ago that she made a visit to friends in Grand Rapids. Up to an hour or two before her death, she talked with interest about family matters, and at last sunk away quietly and without pain. She was one of the early pioneers of Ionia, coming here the same year as the Dexter colony, and was widely known and highly esteemed. She leaves four children: Mrs. C. H. Axtell, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Chas. A. Cornell, of this city; Albert S. Cornell, of Grand Rapids and Edwin E. Cornell, of Washburn, Wis.
